Semi-Static Ropes

Semi-static ropes, also called static ropes when used, have a lower elongation of a maximum of five percent compared to dynamic ropes. The term static rope, however, conveys that these ropes have no elongation. The standard, on the other hand, speaks of "core sheathed ropes with low elongation". These ropes can be found in the context of fall protection systems and in the field of height rescue.
