Lifting slings are part of the load handling equipment. They are devices which do not belong to the hoist and which establish a connection between the load-bearing equipment and the payload with or without the interposition of load-bearing equipment. Common slings are sling ropes, sling chains, round slings or hoisting belts which are used in single strands as well as in multiple strands.
