Product description

ICE sling chains quality class 12
The best in chain technology!
Thanks to the enormously high strength of the patented ICE material, the continuous jump in nominal thickness compared to grade 8 was achieved even with thinner dimensions ≤ ND 16 mm, meaning that when lifting or lashing, an ICE sling chain or lashing chain of any nominal thickness is able to replace a grade 8 chain of the next larger nominal thickness.

The ICE sling chain offers the following advantages over a grade 8 chain with the same load capacity:

• Easier handling due to 30% weight reduction
• Up to 60% higher breaking strength/load capacity
• Temperature resistant from -60°C to +300°C
• Significantly improved toughness and notched bar impact energy values > 55 J at -60°C
• Longer service life, as better abrasion behaviour due to 30% higher surface hardness (460 HV) compared to grade 8
• In blasting systems, a 3-times lower abrasion of the ICE chains compared to grade 8 chains was achieved
• RUD ICE chains and components have been tested in accordance with DIN EN 818 and 1677 for dynamic loading at 1.5 times the load capacity with at least 20,000 load changes
• The BG stipulates: For high dynamic loads with a high number of cycles (continuous operation), the load carrying capacity must be reduced according to mechanism group 1Bm (M3 according to DIN EN 818-7), e.g. by using a larger nominal thickness
